CONVENTIONAL V/S ORGANIC AGRICULTURE
Conventional agriculture practices are mainly about chemicals. Chemicals in the soil, on leaves, on fruits, on stems and everywhere. That is not enough chemical as yet. You need to get more in rain storage tanks, processed foods and in the air.
In livestock products, chemicals are applied in feeds, control of intestinal worms, tick control, in injections and everywhere. So one consumes them in milk, eggs, meat e.t c. Can our bodies be able cope with all other pressures of life and still have the capacity to clean up the mass of chemicals?
It is silently talked about, that if one goes to hospital with liver and kidney problems, the doctor should first know where the one comes from.If one happens to come from areas with much horticultural and coffee and tea prodution, then the first investigation should be agro-chemical poisoning.I have heard of a person who worked in a coffee factory chemical store. One early morning, without any signs, he just dropped dead.
Each year, millions and millions of adults die from chemical poisoning worldwide.Children ar neither safe. They get chemicals from breast milk.In agricultural parts of africa, especially Kenya, vegetables are sprayed with cattle dip wash[acaricides]. Maize is spinkled with chemicals at package. On quick delivery to the millers, is it ever washed? So what happens when you eat your maize flour meal full of toxic chemicals only dusted a week ago? Should we then struggle to look for causes of throat cancer?
All is not lost however. SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE also widely known as ORGANIC AGRICULTURE  is the SOLUTION. It is possible to produce chemical free healthy foods at very low costs as compared to production of the same amounts of food in chemical production.
We however need enough thinkers to say, chemical agriculture is outdated. Conventional agriculture ceased to be modern agriculture many years ago.But unfortunately, many of us are still in the ideological and scientific wilderness. And as more students graduate from conventional agriculture practices, they continue to kill not only others, but kill themselves too through chemical poisoning.
WHY GO ORGANIC
Organic produce or products are those produced and processed through a system that encourages natural biological processes on the farm, allows farm animals to exhibit natural behavior and excludes the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers, antibiotics and genetically modified organisms.
YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT
You can live a healthier life by eating organic food.
EAT ORGANIC, BE STRONG.
Organic foods are high in nutritional quality and quantity. They are produced under a system that ensures healthy soils, resulting in crops that are rich in diverse minerals, enzymes and macro and micro-nutrients.
